Learning Management System, this is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, and reporting of training programs, classroom and online events, e-learning programs, and training content.

What is Moodle?

Moodle is the highly popular open source e-learning software platform used to build online learning sites. It is also known as an Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), this will depend typically on what country you are in and how it is referred to by the educators in the public education sector.

It is built with PHP & MySQL and is free to download from Moodle.

What is SCORM?

Sharable Content Object Reference Model, this is a collection of standards and specifications for web-based e-learning.

It defines communications between client side content and a host system called the run-time environment, which is commonly supported by a learning management system.

What is VLE?

Virtual Learning Environment, this is an alternative term for LMS by educators in the public education system, used in different countries.
